A boy finds himself uncovering a rainbow-colored dragon egg while spending a day at the park with his family. When the egg cracks open, and a colorful baby dragon comes out looking for food, the boy is now responsible for this new dragon pet he has named, Simon. The young boy's responsibilities might be a little easier, if his pet dragon wasn't scared of almost everything except pancakes and video games. When Simon is afraid, he changes colors and blends into everything around him. A normal day at the park, becomes a search for Simon and his new encounters with the outside world.
Simon, My Pet Dragon and Our Unusual Adventure, is the first children's book in a series of seek and find picture books, where each adventure brings the reader and the characters closer to discovering where Simon the dragon comes from. The adventures begin with Simon as a baby dragon, learning how to manage life in a world bigger than his bedroom. How he ended up in the forest with the ability to change colors? Don't dragons breathe fire? Don't dragons fly through the sky? As a baby dragon, Simon has to learn how to overcome his fear of almost everything and find his true dragon colors, before he can understand what it means to become a legendary dragon.

About The Author & Illustrator
David D. Cree
David D. Cree was first published In the 4th grade. With teacher suggestions and parental provisions, his “What is Gray” poem landed in the 1993 book “Great Poems of Our Time” from the National Library of Poetry. This sparked an interest for weaving words into a wonderful experience. Besides words, David’s interest in the arts ventured into web design, graphic creation, and hand drawn art. Building a portfolio of design work worthy of refrigerator door magnets, his skills improved and lead to an extensive catalog of designs on thousands of products and merchandise. Today, David writes and illustrates children’s books, no longer having to choose between the written word and visual artistic expression.
